Artist Statement

I knew getting back to my glass to create a body of work for this show would not be easy after being away from it for personal reasons. In order for me to move forward I went back to a series I created a few years ago, called “Looking Back” and added three more pieces. My “Looking Back” series uses the contrast of black and white, geometric shapes and pops of bright colors that come together like a puzzle. “Black Bamboo Garden” mirror was inspired by a bamboo found in Portland, Oregon, where you can also find Bullseye Glass. My vessel contribution to the “wall” was made by layering primary colors with pastel colors to create a unique color palette. 2018 is the year I found my Voice again.
